Westmoor Primary School, a local primary school, applied to the Dewsbury Moor Fund to help keep the venue safe and fit for purpose, so that organisations can continue to use the space. With the funding they were given, they improved the security of the building, including upgrading their intruder alarm and CCTV system.
By re-opening their community sports hall, they offered a much-needed space for local community groups to host their sessions. This was a success, with lots of groups eager to book the venue, located in the heart of Dewsbury Moor. This has played a crucial role in bringing more affordable activities to the area.
