Westborough Methodist Church have been offering vital support to their community and beyond since 2020. Using their Church as a drop-off centre when the war began in Ukraine, they filled two seven and a half ton lorries with food, clothing and medical supplies. They also run a ‘singing for fun’ group at Woodland Court, a local assisted care home.
Westborough Methodist Church used the funding they received from the Dewsbury Moor Fund to support local families. They put together ‘Breakfast Boxes’ which contained essentials such as food and hygiene items, distributing them to families in need. Because of this funding, this group was able to regularly support 25 families, plus give one-off support to those who were referred to them by a local school. The support they give is a lifeline, with many expressing how much they appreciate the service and how they wouldn’t know what they would do without it.
