West Yorkshire ADHD Support Group support people who live with ADHD and their families. You don’t need a diagnosis to access the support, you just need to suspect.
The grant was used to develop the newest support which was to begin offering a youth group for teenagers with (suspected) ADHD. These sessions have been running every Saturday morning, 10am – 12pm, at Sensory World Play Centre, Old Westgate, Dewsbury, concurrently with a play session for younger children.
The youth group has delivered a range of activities including crafting and cooking as well as giving practical guidance, life skills and emotional support to help neurodiverse teens navigate their unique challenges, supported by people who live with and understand neurodiversity. With its increasing popularity, the group will be moving to a new venue in September and details of this can be found on the website.
