Omnis Circumvado CIC (Latin for all encompassing) is a social enterprise that provides totally inclusive physical activity opportunities to SEN Schools, Community Groups, Local Authorities, Care Homes and Residential Homes. They are specialists in adapted sport and PE, with a focus on those with complex needs, who would otherwise miss out.
OmnisCircumvado used their grants from the Dewsbury Moor Fund to bring their inclusive multi-sport activities, which they have been running for many years, to Westmoor Community Sports Hall over the holidays. They ran their sessions at Westmoor Community Sports Hall, which started with four different activities. The people attending could choose which activity they wanted to do and move to a different one whenever they liked. They ended the sessions with team sports.
The group who attended OmnisCircumvado’s sessions would struggle greatly to access mainstream sports clubs, who often are not equipped to support and include those with complex disabilities. Parents of the attendees described the sessions as a vital and valuable thing for their children and young adults; expressing how they would usually find it virtually impossible to find inclusive groups such as this one.
