Moonlight Trust is a grassroots charity based in Kirklees, with a commendable history of delivering frontline crisis support, combating poverty and inequality, and offering essential services in mental health, skills development, education, climate change, and well-being for some of the most marginalised and vulnerable communities. With a dedicated force of over 200 volunteers/contributors and community champions, the organisation takes pride in its community engagement, serving over 10,000 beneficiaries in Kirklees alone, collaborating with over a dozen grassroots partners and community organisations.
Moonlight Trust used their grants from the Dewsbury Moor Fund to develop the existing infrastructure at Dewsbury Country Park, to accommodate a serene spiritual garden area and a pond dipping facility, enriching the outdoor experience for locals. They maintained and improved the accessible pathways throughout the park and ensured proper accessibility to the ponds by installing the needed infrastructure and signage. They also provided outdoor activities and the opportunity to volunteer and help with the development of the park, letting the locals get involved and make a difference together.
