Our Cultural Heart
ClosedOur Cultural Heart Fund – Supporting Kirklees Communities Our Cultural Heart Fund helps local voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations bring creative projects to life. We fund initiatives that celebrate culture and heritage, promote health and wellbeing, and make Kirklees a more connected, inclusive, and vibrant place.
Who can apply?
The Our Cultural Heart Fund is open to VCSE organisations that deliver clear benefits for local people in Kirklees. Examples include:
- Constituted voluntary, community, and faith groups run for and by local people (individuals cannot apply but, for example, self-employed or freelance artists may form part of projects led by eligible applicants)
- Registered charities and charitable groups working in Kirklees
- Community Interest Companies (CICs) that do not and cannot pay dividends
- Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) with open membership, a community benefit clause, and an asset lock
- Schools, PTAs, and PFAs
- co-operative and community benefit societies
- Private companies limited by guarantee without share capital
- Other constituted community-led groups delivering a clear benefit for local people in Kirklees are also welcome to apply.
Grant amount:
Applicants may submit one application for one project only.
Funding can be requested at one of the following levels:
Up to £10,000, or Up to £25,000.
Round 1 Spring
Applications open: Wednesday 11th March 2026
Applications close: Wednesday 22nd April 2026
Round 2 Autumn
Applications open: Monday September 7th 2026
Applications close: Monday October 19th 2026
