Dewsbury Moor Sports Club

Dewsbury Moor Sports Club has been running since 1968 and has grown rapidly since, providing a safe place for people of all ages to come together and participate in sports, mainly rugby. Their space is currently a hub for over 500 amateur rugby and football players, and they often host other community groups in their function room.

The sports club used the grant they received from the Dewsbury Moor Fund to support them to complete the construction of their cafe, situated on the edge of the greenway. The grant specifically went towards installing the kitchen. Its location encourages locals to access the greenway, giving them a convenient pit-stop to stop and enjoy food and drinks along their walk. The cafe, providing accessible toilets, also makes it easier for those with accessibility issues to participate in watching the sports club’s games, further enabling them to enjoy the outdoors.
