Dewsbury Celtic RLFC

Dewsbury Celtic RLFC is one of the oldest rugby league clubs in the UK, running since 1879. Run by volunteers, the club enables young people and adults alike to play sports and develop their rugby league skills in a fun, safe and welcoming environment.

Dewsbury Celtic RLFC used the first grant they received from the Dewsbury Moor Fund to purchase much needed equipment such as post protectors, flexi corner flags and portable flood lights. The new equipment improved the safety of the club, providing better protection during games, which meant that the group could open up the club to create more teams, allowing even more local children to come together and enjoy engaging in sports.

The club then received further funding which supported the group to complete the refurbishment of one of the rooms in their clubhouse, which they now allow other local community groups to use for their own activities.
