Reflecting on this year, we are proud of what we’ve achieved together at One Community Foundation. It has been a great year of generosity and collaboration. Thanks to our donors, partners, and the wonderful community organisations we support year after year, we’ve been able to create waves of local impact that will last well into the future.
With the cost-of-living crisis and increasing demand on local services affecting so many, we know how tough this year has been. That’s why we’re especially proud to have helped make life a little easier for people across Kirklees. We worked hard to continue growing our endowments and keep bringing in new funding opportunities so that our local communities can thrive. Our annual review is a great reflection of this work and we hope that you enjoy reading all about it.
Strengthening Kirklees, One Grant at a Time
We think that our annual review is a great example of our commitment to transparency.
You’ll get to see how and where funding was allocated in order to meet our key priorities across Kirklees; all 23 wards of it! In 2024/25, we are thrilled to have awarded 307 grants, totalling over £1.2 million. Our grants have supported projects improving health and wellbeing, reducing disadvantage, strengthening communities, opening up new opportunities for people of all ages and much more.
We may have distributed a lot of funding this year, but it’s thanks to the passionate organisations working hard on the ground that real change happened. Together, we’re stronger!
Stories of Local Change
Our annual review has lots of inspiring examples of the local organisations we support and the vital work they carry out. You’ll get to read about the incredible projects we had the pleasure of funding, like Huddersfield Circle of Sister’s advice clinic, supporting the most vulnerable to get back on their feet or Training Cave Club’s boxing sessions for young people with additional needs.
